WASHINGTON (December 5, 2021) — DC Attorney General Karl Racine announced Monday his endorsement of Zachary Parker for Ward 5 DC Councilmember.
“There's only one candidate who is prepared, who is earnest, chock full of integrity and honor and understands the most important issues that confront the District of Columbia. That candidate is Zachary Parker,” said Racine, District of Columbia Attorney General.
“I’m honored to have the endorsement of Karl Racine, as he is a resolute statesman,” said Zachary Parker, candidate for Ward 5 DC Council. Karl is steadfast in fighting for the District’s most vulnerable residents, working to advance public safety, and leading criminal justice reform efforts through innovative and strategic initiatives.”
Parker is participating in DC’s Fair Elections Program which forbids candidates from taking money from corporations and requires them to only accept grassroots individual contributions up to $50.
As the current President of the State Board of Education, he centers equity and elevates the needs of DC’s most vulnerable students and communities.
Parker’s Ward 5 campaign is focused on building healthy communities and stopping patterns of corruption, violence, and displacement. He believes that if we make bold investments, we can meet the basic needs of all Ward 5 neighbors. His priorities include:
Violence prevention and community safety
Deeply affordable and targeted housing
Quality education and family health
Generational wealth and good-paying jobs
Safe streets and green infrastructure
